For Students

You’re learning to fly. Your school runs on WingWrangler, which means your flights, your training record, and your logbook live in one place — and you can check all of it yourself, any time.

This page covers the five things students actually do. Each one takes less than a minute once you know where to look.

You don’t call the front desk anymore. Open the Schedule, find an open slot, and request it.

  1. Open Schedule.
  2. Click an open time slot.
  3. Pick the aircraft. If you need an instructor (you usually do), pick them too.
  4. Add a note if your CFI asked for one — like “slow flight and stalls.”
  5. Click Request Booking.

Your request goes to your instructor or the front desk for approval. You’ll get an email when it’s confirmed. If someone else grabbed the slot first, the system shows you the next open times — no phone tag.

Open Training to see your progress at a glance: which lessons are done, what’s left, and what’s coming next — like your first solo, or a stage check.

Each maneuver in your course has a status:

StatusWhat It Means
CompletedYou’ve been taught it.
ProficientYou can do it to standard. That’s the goal.
Needs WorkNot there yet. Your CFI will schedule more practice.

When every task in your current stage is marked proficient, you’re ready for your stage check. Your instructor schedules it; a different instructor flies with you and evaluates you against the standard. Pass, and you move to the next stage.

Open Logbook after every flight — while the details are fresh.

You enter the date, the aircraft, where you went (like KDPA-KUGN-KDPA), your total time, your landings, and what kind of flight it was (dual received, solo, PIC). Training flights go to your instructor for sign-off. Solo flights — once you’re endorsed — save immediately.

Two things happen automatically once your entry is signed off:

  • Your totals update (total time, time in type, hours by year).
  • Your currency updates — the app tracks the takeoffs and landings you need to stay legal to carry passengers, and turns the indicator yellow before you lapse, not after.

Your logbook is always exportable. It’s your record, not just your school’s.

Open Billing to see exactly what you owe and why. Every flight shows up as line items: aircraft time at your school’s hourly rate, instructor time, and any extras like a fuel surcharge. No surprise totals.

You can pay right there with a card, or set up auto-pay so your balance clears itself every month. If you bought a block of prepaid hours, your remaining hours show on the same page.

Open Weather before you drive to the field. You’ll see current conditions and a forecast for your airport, plus a flag if conditions are below your school’s minimums.

1. Accept your invite

Click the email link from WingWrangler, set a password, and you’re in.

2. Add a payment card

Billing → Payment Methods. Takes a minute, saves you chasing invoices later.

3. Find the schedule

Schedule shows your school’s fleet. Open slots are open for the asking.

4. Message your instructor

Messages has a thread with your CFI already. Questions go there, not to group texts.

  • Scheduling — booking rules, recurring lessons, what happens when you cancel late
  • Training Programs — stages, lessons, endorsements, stage checks in detail
  • Digital Logbook — entry fields, sign-off flow, currency rules, export
  • Billing — invoices, block time, auto-pay, refunds
