Digital Logbook
Every flight gets logged. Instructors sign. Nobody loses a logbook again.
You log the flight, pick the aircraft, enter your route and times, and it’s done. No more scribbling in a paper book that’ll end up in a couch cushion. Your entries are searchable, backed up, and always where you left them. Currency gets calculated automatically. Totals roll up in real time.
Entry Flow
Section titled “Entry Flow”You finish the flight, you log the flight. If it’s a training flight (dual received), you submit the entry for your instructor to review. They approve it or kick it back with notes. Non-training flights — PIC time, solo time — save immediately. No waiting on anyone.
Entry Fields
Section titled “Entry Fields”| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Date | Yes | Defaults to today |
| Aircraft | Yes | Pick from your org’s fleet (e.g., N172SP) or enter a tail number manually |
| Route | Yes | ICAO identifiers — KOSH-KMSN, KJFK, KORD-KDPA |
| Total time | Yes | Hobbs or tach, your call. Example: 1.3 hrs |
| Landings | No | Day and night counts. Full stops and touch-and-goes |
| Category | Yes | Dual received, dual given, PIC, SIC, or solo |
Instructor Verification
Section titled “Instructor Verification”Your student logs 1.5 dual received in N738QP, KDPA-KUGN-KDPA. You get a notification. You check the times, the route, the landings. If it looks right, you approve it. If they logged 3 landings and you only remember 2, you kick it back with a note. Both of you sign off before it’s final.
Currency Tracking
Section titled “Currency Tracking”You don’t have to count landings on your fingers. WingWrangler reads your entries and tells you where you stand.
| Currency | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Passenger | 3 takeoffs and landings in the preceding 90 days |
| Night passenger | 3 full-stop night takeoffs and landings in 90 days |
| Instrument | 6 approaches, holding procedures, and intercepting/tracking courses in the preceding 6 calendar months |
| BFR | Flight review within the preceding 24 calendar months |
Green means you’re good. Yellow means you’re about to lapse — get flying. Red means you’re grounded for that privilege until you fix it.
Totals and Summaries
Section titled “Totals and Summaries”| View | Shows |
|---|---|
| Total time | All accumulated PIC, SIC, dual received, dual given, solo. Everything |
| Time in type | Hours by aircraft make/model — C172, PA-28, SR22, etc. |
| By year | Annual breakdown. Useful for insurance renewals |
| By instructor | Who you’ve trained with and how much. Handy for endorsement records |
Your totals update the moment an entry is saved or approved. No manual math.
Billing Integration
Section titled “Billing Integration”When a logbook entry gets approved, billing kicks in. The system applies your org’s aircraft rates and instructor rates, calculates the charge, and adds it to the pilot’s account. 1.3 hrs in N172SP at $165/hr wet? That’s $214.50 on your statement.
Import and Export
Section titled “Import and Export”| Action | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Import | Bring in existing records from ForeFlight, MyFlightbook, or CSV. You review each entry before it’s committed |
| Export | Backup your data, migrate to another system, or just have a local copy. It’s your logbook — you own it |
Solo Student Flights
Section titled “Solo Student Flights”Once a student has a solo endorsement, they log their own flights. No instructor review required. The endorsement is already on record. Your student solos KDPA traffic pattern for 0.8 hrs in N5253R — they log it themselves and it’s done.
